The Position
The Drug Safety Research Unit (DSRU) is seeking a data management professional with experience of managing a broad spectrum of data especially in a pharmacovigilance, pharmaceutical or biomedical environment.What qualifications and qualtities do I need?
The post holder will have a background in biomedical data management: in a biomedical, medical or pharmaceutical environment.
Main responsibilities
This is an operational role managing the day-to-day work of the data management team. The role includes the following responsibilities:
• Manage development, data management and data analysis, ensuring that resources are sufficient to meet deadlines;
• Apply understanding and knowledge of data management to a biomedical research environment;
• Offer day to day technical support or mentoring where necessary;
• Take responsibility for the efficiency and quality of data handling and reporting of study data summary reports;
• Ensure that adequate Quality Control is in place for data management processes associated with Information Systems and that relevant, timely reports are produced and any quality issues
are resolved;
• Meet data strategy and architecture needs, ensuring the Data Model and Information Systems can support the organisation’s research functions;
• Work with the IT team and assist with troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of the organisation’s bespoke software;
• Develop the strategy for processing and information system enhancements in line with the changing data management needs and business objectives of the organisation;
• Manage project teams dedicated to the continual improvement of the organisation’s data management.
Conditions
This position is full-time. The salary will be from £70,000 per annum and is dependent on experience. A higher salary will be paid to outstanding candidates with relevant experience.
