Amy began her career as a safety scientist in the pharmaceutical industry and was seeking a solid academic foundation in pharmacovigilance.

As a safety scientist working in a large pharmaceutical industry, in my early career stages within pharmacovigilance, I was seeking a course which would help me form a solid academic foundation on which I can build with day-to-day practical experience. The DSRU have provided me with just that through their Pharmacovigilance postgraduate diploma course. I have had the opportunity to take part in modules covering the basics of pharmacovigilance, risk benefit analysis, PBRERs/PSURs, medical aspects of ADRs, pharmacovigilance planning and risk management, pharmacoepidemiology and regulations (non-exhaustively!) which were all incredibly engaging with brilliant lecturers and relevant assignments to help solidify this learning. The course has exceeded my expectations and the DSRU team have consistently been on hand to help with questions and support throughout unforeseeable challenges. I could not recommend this course more to anyone looking to upskill in the field, whether it be individual modules or the full qualification.
