Dr Linda Härmark

Director

Linda joined the DSRU as its Director in April 2025. She is a pharmacist (Uppsala University, Sweden) and she holds a Master of Epidemiology degree (Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, the Netherlands). Linda completed her PhD thesis entitled ‘Web-based intensive monitoring: a patient-based pharmacovigilance tool’ at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. She also holds a MBA diploma (Nyenrode Business University, the Netherlands).

Prior to joining the DSRU, Linda worked for 20 years at different roles at the Netherlands Pharmacovigilance Centre Lareb. She has extensive experience with ICSR reporting and signal detection. She has also participated in a number of public-private and public-public partnerships such as the IMI WEB-RADR project, the IMI Conception project and the EDTP PAVIA project.

Her research interests include patient involvement in pharmacovigilance and she was part of CIOMS XI ‘Patient involvement in the development, regulation and safe use of medicines’. She also has a keen interest in pharmacovigilance in low and middle income countries and was the coordinator of the WHO Collaborating Centre for patient reporting and education. She has (co)-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed research articles and has delivered several invited international research presentations. She is currently a member of the steering committee of the European Chapter of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance.
