Overview

The DSRU is a proud member of the SIGMA Consortium.

The consortium was established by ENCePP (the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology & Pharmacovigilance) research centres in 2020 in order to integrate expertise and data from a number of European countries to provide multi-country real world evidence (RWE) research as a service to clients, especially those from the pharmaceutical industry.

The Consortium now comprises 15 leading research organisations from across Europe which have extensive collective expertise and experience in the conduct of pharmacoepidemiological and RWE research. More information on the members of the SIGMA Consortium can be found here: https://sigmaconsortium.eu/sigma-network-and-data/

SIGMA’s multi country network

The DSRU brings to the SIGMA Consortium decades of experience in RWE studies, both in the UK and in collaboration with other European partners. We contribute real world data from the UK, both General Practice medical record data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) Aurum and Gold databases, and bespoke data collection from NHS primary and secondary care.

Since it was established, the SIGMA Consortium has become the ‘go-to’ organisation for state-of-the-art methodological pharmacoepidemiology and RWE research. It provides a ready made multi country network, which has the expertise and data access to design and conduct post-authorisation studies across several countries and provides a much needed service to many pharmaceutical companies.
