Education & Training
The DSRU works with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM) to deliver the Drug Safety Surveillance (DSS) module of Pharmaceutical Medicine Speciality Training (PMST).
Three courses have been designed to fulfill the curriculum for this module.
- Back to Basics in Pharmacovigilance February or September
- Introduction to Pharmacoepidemiology April or October
- Risk Benefit Assessment in Pharmacovigilance October
Theory and experimental learning
What do the courses deliver?
Each two day course delivers theory and experiential learning together with assessments which have been reviewed by the Board of Examiners of the FPM. Attendance at all three courses is recommended in order to cover the full DSS curriculum. Successful completion of the DSS module can be used as part of the training required to obtain a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) awarded by the General Medical Council (GMC).
