Study report published: myo- and pericarditis following Pfizer Covid vaccination
The final report has been published for one of our collaborative studies into aspects of safety of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine. The study aimed to determine the clinical course of myocarditis and of pericarditis after patients were vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in five European countries. The DSRU was involved in this study as a member of the Vaccine Monitoring Collaboration for Europe (VAC4EU) network, representing the UK. Our contribution to this VAC4EU study was as Data Expert and Access Partner (DEAP), which involved the provision and analysis of UK primary care data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) by our epidemiology team.
We are proud to have played a key role in this multi-country observational study, reinforcing our commitment to advancing vaccine monitoring and generating robust real-world evidence across Europe. The final report and other study documents are available in the EMA’s RWD Catalogue (EUPAS47708): https://catalogues.ema.europa.eu/node/3172/resources
