This will be our 12th biennial signal detection conference. Over the years this much-loved event has built up a loyal following amongst the signal detection community, with many delegates returning every two years to hear updates from around the world and to connect with old and new friends.
The main conference (16-17th October) will include the latest signal detection news from key stakeholders including MHRA, Sentinel, DARWIN-EU and more, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI). The conference features talks and discussion on the potential role of generative AI, ongoing work to establish guidelines for AI in pharmacovigilance by CIOMS Working Group XIV and key lessons that signal detection can learn from use of AI in other fields. Other highlights include a reminder to consider the clinical perspective of signal detection, case studies, and the new READUS-PV guidelines for reporting disproportionality scores in articles.

The pre-conference tutorial day on 15th October provides intensive tuition in signal detection and AI with engaging speakers from regulatory authorities, academia and pharma. The packed programme includes the basic principles of signal detection, regulatory requirements, an introduction to AI, critical appraisal of AI solutions in signal detection, large language models and more. Although this pre-conference day is aimed at newcomers to the field of signal detection, it would be relevant to all delegates as background knowledge or revision prior to the main conference.
