DSRU International Working Group on New Developments in Pharmacovigilance

The International Working Group (IWG) on New Developments in Pharmacovigilance was first launched in March 2019. The work of the IWG falls under the Centre for Pharmacovigilance Sciences.

Mission

The mission of the IWG is to evaluate and advance key areas of pharmacovigilance, to improve its efficiency and protect public health.

Objectives

The IWG aims to identify areas where contributions can be made to advance methods used in pharmacovigilance and pharmacoepidemiology to protect patients from the hazards of medicines and to facilitate the safe and effective use of medicines and vaccines.

Key themes in pharmacovigilance will be decided by members of the IWG and addressed sequentially. Members will provide scientific input, while the research generated by these discussions is carried out by a dedicated team of DSRU scientists.
