Thoughts from Saad Shakir on adverse drug reactions, polypharmacy and reducing medicine-related harm

Is everyone like me? I sit in a cafe, an airport lounge or a train station and watch people. I wonder what medications this man is taking, has he had an adverse drug reaction before, if so, what was it and which drug caused it? Does this lady have hypertension, if so, she probably is not well-controlled? Also, she is likely not taking her statins regularly and her doctor doesn’t care. The old lady with a walking stick, I am sure that she takes loads of NSAIDs. What is her creatinine level? Her doctor can probably reduce the doses of her medications but hasn’t.

It is a kind of meditation. Very helpful stress-busting, you focus on the ‘now’.
