Lorna Hazel

Lorna studied at Strathclyde University, Glasgow achieving a First Class Honours degree in pharmacy. Following her training at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Lorna moved to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester where she spent 3 years developing a career in hospital pharmacy, in particular, in the area of "Medicines Information". Lorna also studied for the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy at Portsmouth University at this time. After a break for travelling, Lorna moved into community pharmacy working for large chains such as Moss Pharmacy and Boots. She continued her studies at Portsmouth University and completed an MSc in Community Pharmacy in 2003. Lorna joined the DSRU as a research fellow in February 2004 where she has been involved in projects relating to evidence-based pharmacovigilance and Prescription Event Monitoring studies on drugs for erectile dysfunction. Lorna is currently involved in a collaborative project evaluating the impact of patient reporting of adverse drug reactions to the UK's Yellow Card Scheme.
