Carole Fogg

Carole joined the DSRU in May 2006. She is working as a research fellow on PEM studies of asthma drugs, antidiabetics and urinary incontinence treatments. She is also working as a data manager/analyst on various projects within the Unit. Her other interests include pharmacovigilance of artemisinin-combination therapies for malaria, and she participates in analysis of surveillance cohort data from Ghana and is a member of a DSMB for the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative. Carole graduated from Oxford with a BA Biological Sciences (Hons) in 1994 and a Post-graduate Certificate in Education in 1995. She then spent 2 years working as a teacher for Voluntary Service Overseas in Nigeria before returning to do an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She then held research assistant posts at the LSHTM and the Institute of Child Health. Before joining the DSRU, she spent 6 years working as an epidemiologist for Epicentre/Médecins sans Frontières in Africa, conducting operational research including diagnostic studies and clinical trials on malaria, sleeping sickness, HIV/AIDS and meningitis.
